Bar Opens Case against Broadcast Regulation

According to Diyarbakir Bar Head Tanrikulu, the regulation on Kurdish language broadcasts is more backward than the related law. Tanrikulu said the regulation does not say how the broadcasts will be done, but instead says how they will not be done.

RSF has called on RTUK to rescind the one-month suspension it imposed on 5 television stations. RTÜK accuses the television stations of carrying broadcasts defending the unfair interests of their owner, their shareholders and members of the family.

RTUK Suspends a Radio for Kurdish Broadcasts

RTUK ordered Radio Dunya off the air for a month for broadcasting a program in Kurdish. Ozic said the recent reforms in Turkey allowed Kurdish broadcasts.
