Court to Await Constitutional Court Ruling on Academics for Peace

Upon the request of lawyer Eyüboğlu, the court has ruled that the Constitutional Court ruling on Academics for Peace shall be awaited till a verdict is given for three academics. One academic has also been given a deferred prison sentence of 15 months.

Solidarity with Academic for Peace at Airport Against the Warrant Issued for Her

Academic for Peace Gizem Sayın, who was abroad for her academic works, will be detained at İstanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport on June 11 as a warrant was issued against her at her third hearing on March 6. Sayın will be released after her deposition.

Üstel’s Request for Stay of Execution Rejected, Judge Expresses Dissenting Opinion

Imprisoned academic Füsun Üstel’s request for stay of execution has been rejected. While the upper court has also rejected the objection of her lawyers against this ruling, one of the judges has expressed a dissenting opinion, referring to freedom of expression.
