The court has decided to release Çilem Doğan who had killed her husband inflicting violence on her on bail until the respective decision of the Supreme Court of Appeal was issued. Her attorney Topal noted; “May this decision be a hope for every woman who defends her right to life”.

The court has by a majority vote passed the sentence on the case of Çilem Doğan put on trial for killing her husband inflicting violence on her. The chief judge has noted that Doğan had acted in self defence and put the annotation on the verdict that she should thus be acquitted.
