Humanitarian Help Foundation employee Cevdet Kılıçlar was killed during the Isreali attack on the aid ships bound to Gazza on 31 May. Sabah reporter Olgun said that all their personal belongings were seized. IPI criticized: "Worrying signal sent by Israel to repressive nations".

"İpekçi's Murder Case not Closed for Turkish Journalists"

IPI Board Member Ferai Tınç stated: "We, as Turkish journalists, see the İpekçi murder as an unsolved case. The case must not be closed. A proper investigation should be initiated to find answers to all those questions left in the dark".
