The European Court of Human Rights has passed judgement on three cases of extrajudicial killing in two different police-military operations. Turkey has been sentenced to pay compensation for having violated “the right to life”.

ECHR gave a verdict on the case of the gas-canister-caused killing of Tarık Ataykaya. The court ruled in favor of the plaintiff, and expressed that “the canister had been aimed at Ataykaya.”

Interference with Kurdish Letters Unlawful
The European Court of Human Rights convicted Turkey of a violation of the "right to respect for private life" upon an application lodged by 10 prisoners. They had applied because letters in Kurdish written to their families had not been dispatched by the prison administrations.
