8,882 stone pines to be cut down for granite quarry
An Environmental Impact Assessment report has been prepared to extend the 14-hectare granite quarry to 110 hectares. The report covering an area in Bergama and Ayvalık in the north Aegean foresees the cutting of nearly 9 thousand stone pines.
