Group of Demonstrators Detained on Taksim Square

The police have intervened against a group who entered Taksim Square in protest of the ban on the celebrations on the square.
A group of about 20 members of the Revolutionary Youth Union (DGB), the only group to manage to enter the square, was attacked by the police around the fast-food restaurants.
The group chanted, "Squares can't be closed to the people."
bianet learned that the police detained 14 people, while the exact number is not clear yet.
The police officers handcuffed the protesters behind their backs, while tried to shut their mouths to prevent them from chanting slogans.
The police also intervened against the Student Action group who tried to go to Taksim Square from Cihangir neighborhood, detained four people.
