Dogan Media Group Appeals Heavy Tax Fine

The Doğan Yayın Holding (DYH) lost its case against the Ministry of Finance worth TL 713 million (approx. € 356 million). The Ministry had imposed the huge tax fine to the media group related to corporate income tax of the year 2006.
In a statement sent to the Istanbul Stock Exchange Market, the holding announced to file an appeal against the decision.
As reported by Sabah newspaper, including interest the fine adds up to TL 1.1 billion (€ 550 million).
The tax offices notified the holding of a tax fine of TL 4.8 billion in total including tax, penalties and interest related to Doğan TV, D Yapım, Doğan Productions and Alp Visuals as belonging to DYH. The Doğan Group opened a case in return.
Parts of these trials were decided in favour of DYH, other parts were decided against the holding. However, the holding declared that they had not been notified and that they will issue an announcement once they will be informed. (TK/VK)
