The Sarıyıldız Family who held the seaman's funeral in Manisa filed a criminal complaint with the İzmir Public Prosecutor's Office. Sarıyıldız's body was sent to Turkey after being kept in Rotterdam for a full 5 days; but it came to light that no autopsy had been conducted.
