"Peace Groups" Have to Go Back

According to Fırat News Agency, it was decided to send the "peace groups" back to Qandil and Mahmur. 34 people came to Turkey in October 2009 upon the call of imprisoned PKK leader Öcalan. A trial was opened against 26 of them after their arrival, 13 members were detained.

17 members of the "Peace Groups" that came from Iraq to Turkey in 2009 are facing trial for "propaganda for an illegal organization". The defendants dismiss the charges and refer to their freedom of thought. Another 30 trials are filed against each adult of both groups.
