Turkey in Free Fall

Turkey ranges in 138th position among 178 countries reviewed for the World Press Freedom Index issued by Reporters without Borders. This is a further decline compared to last year's 122nd rank. RSF criticized the quickly increasing number of sanctions against journalists.

Industrial Production Gone Down by a Quarter

According to the the Turkish Statistical Institute TÜİK, there has been a 23.7 percent decrease in industrial production compared to last year. The production of cars and car-related products has gone down by 59 percent.
