Deaths due to poisoning from counterfeit alcohol in Istanbul have more than doubled on the second day. The increase in number of foreigners among the deaths indicates that counterfeit alcohol use more often takes place not in homes but tourist facilities.

14 people have been hospitalized for suspected methanol poisoning in Bursa province over the last three days, three of them have died. Since October 9, 92 people have lost their lives for having consumed bootleg alcohol.
