Turkey reports 1,253 new Covid cases, 11 deaths in a day

The Ministry of Health reported 1,253 new coronavirus cases and 11 deaths yesterday (May 5).

Some 101,263 people were tested for the virus and 1,782 people recovered from the disease in 24 hours, the figures showed.

Over 85 percent of the country's adult population have received at least two doses of the coronavirus vaccine with 27.7 million people receiving at least three jabs, according to the ministry figures.

As the number of new cases has been on the decrease, the government on April 26 lifted the indoor mask mandate except for public transport vehicles and health institutions. (VK)
