Reaction From AKP to Letter Of MHP
The Nationalist Action Partys (MHP) sending letter to 313 generals, asking from them to warn the government, stirred Ankara.
Ali Topuz, the Deputy Group Chairman of CHP said, "We agree with the things said in the letter. But doing such a thing is not democratic. Such problems are solved with democratic powers. This letter seems to be an effort to solve problems through a military coup."
The Chairman of the True Path Party (DYP) Mehmet Agar regarded the stance of MHP as being contary to democratic traditions.
AKP's Deputy Chairman Salih Kapusuz criticized MHP saying, "It is wrong to say these things when we are at the brink of the European Union process."
MHP's Deputy Chairman Mehmet Sandir reacted at remarks that they had called on the soldiers for a coup. Sandir who sent the letter to the army warning it against the ruling AKP, said that they shared their warnings with all sections of the society. "We find the worst democratic regime better than the best coup regime," Sandir said. (YE)
