One soldier loses his life in armed combat in Siirt

Specialized Sergeant Aydın Ceylan lost his life during a confrontation between the soldiers and members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in the rural district of Pervari, Siirt, located in southeastern Turkey.

The conflict occurred during the operation which followed an explosion that took place as a military vehicle passed through a nearby village.

The body of Ceylan was airlifted by helicopter to the Siirt Training and Research Hospital and will later be transported to Çanakkale for the funeral ceremony and burial.
