No American-Style Haircut!
Barbers Huseyin and Levent Muti have decided not to do the American-style haircut until the possibility of an attack by the U.S. on Iraq ends. Huseyin Muti said his fellow barbers should take the very same decision and protest a possible war in Iraq.
The barbers in Turkey's Aegean port city of Izmir have joined in with the anti-war activists around the world. There are many anti-war demonstrations in Turkey and around the world, against a possible attack on Iraq by the United States (U.S.)
Barber brothers Levent and Huseyin Muti have put a sign on their shop windows that reads, "No American-style haircut."
"The U.S. will attack Iraq for the sake of its own interests," said the Muti brothers. "There will be a war. And the U.S. will use Turkey for this. Like everyone, we don't want a war. And we support the anti-war demonstrations," they said.
"The demonstrations by people who say 'No to War,' even in the U.S. are very meaningful," said Huseyin Muti.
"We will not do American-style haircut in our barber shop until the U.S. ends its war talk. We don't want our customers to ask for this haircut." (NK/BB/EA/NM)
