Male Violence Killed 17 Women in July
According to bianet's ongoing count of incidences of gender-based violence, 17 women were killed, while others were raped, harrassed and beaten.

The month of July did not show any reduction in male violence. bianet keeps count of gender-based violence, much of it reported on the "third pages" of main-stream newspapers.
According to the count, 17 women were killed throughout Turkey in the last month.
Furthermore, in cases all across the country there were 14 cases of rape and/or forced prostitution, four cases of sexual harrassment and two cases of violence and/or attempted murder.
Many of the perpetrators of the crimes are spouses, former spouses or partners, or other family members. (EZÖ/AG)
