Generals Send Controversial Letter Back
The letter was sent by MHP Deputy Chairman Mehmet Sandir to 5,000 state officials including 313 top representatives of the military, and was containing calls for action against AKP government.
Hürriyet daily newspaper reports that 313 army generals and admirals had sent back to MHP the letter sent to them on 13 June.

The generals decided to return the letter to MHP following the report of Hürriyet about MHP call for military intervention in politics on Monday.
According to Hürriyet, the military were seriously disturbed by the letter. IN discussions among themselves the military decided that the letter was an attempt to drag the army into politics and that this had caused serious anxiety in the public as well as among the military. They agreed to return the letter to MHP deputy chairman Sandir. (YE)
