Fifth Wave of Feb. 28 Operations
A detention warrant is issued for Retired Lieutenant General Avar and 6 military officials including 4 retired generals were called to prosecutor’s office within the scope of Feb. 28 Operations held in İstanbul, İzmir and Muğla.
Chief Public Prosecutor of Ankara carried out the fifth wave of Feb. 28 Operations under Feb. 28 investigation this morning.
According to the news, Retired Lt. Gen. Vural Avar is detained at his summer house in Datca and taken to Ankara.
6 military officials including Retired General Teoman Koman are called to prosecutor's office. Retired General Çetin Doğan who is one of the suspects of Sledgehammer investigation, is also taken to Ankara in order to give a statement.
51 retired and active duty military officers are arrested in total at the first four operations held under Feb. 28 investigation. (EKN)
