Explosion in Diyarbakır Province Kills 9 Soldiers
An explosion near Lice, Diyarbakır, killed nine soldiers in a military vehicle at 6.30 am this morning.

Soldiers were travelling along the Diyarbakır-Bingöl in an M113 armoured vehicle when an explosion killed nine of them.
According to Chief of Staff İlker Başbuğ, it was a remote control explosive of a considerable strength. The bombs were estimated to be 100 kg.
The explosion took place near Abalı village in the Lice district of Diyarbakır.
One and a half months ago, 65 kilos of explosives had been found on the same route, and around 20 days ago, another set of bombs had been found. (EZÖ/AG)
