Earthquake toll rises to 48,448 in Turkey

Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu announced the updated earthquake toll in Turkey as 48 thousand and 448 in the February 6 earthquakes centered in Maraş.

Making the announcement following a meeting in the Disaster and Emergency Presidency (AFAD) Malatya Province Coordination Center, Soylu informed that 6 thousand 660 among the death toll were foreign nationals, most of whom were from Syria.

The minister also announced that 1615 people who died in the February 6 earthquakes could not yet be identified. (AS/PE)
