Municipal workers in the southern city of Hatay pulled a cow out of the rubble on the 17th day of the devastating double earthquake.
The cow was found amid work to bury dead animals to prevent a possible outbreak of a disease.
After hearing voices from under the debris of a collapsed building, workers with the Gölcük District Municipality pulled out the cow.
After veterinarians determined that the animal was in good health, the cow was given feed and water.
Gölcük Mayor Ali Yıldırım Sezer thanked the workers, saying that it was a "big morale boost." (TY/VK)
