Eight of 11 Community Houses members including Community Houses Co-chair Dilşat Aktaş have been on hunger strike since February 22 when they were detained.
Speaking to bianet about the developments, lawyer Tonguç Cankurt said that police do not give sugar to the hunger strikers.
Stating that the sugars brought from outside by lawyers are not allowed inside, Cankurt said, "This practice wasn't like this in the past. They say that the detainees are not given anything but food packets now".
Noting that there is sometime fruit juice in the food packet but they don't have enough sugar, lawyer Cankurt said that the hunger strikers are more exhausted than normal.
The 11 Community Houses members haven't been deposed yet. (EKN/TK)
