Clashes in METU Injure 15

At 6 PM local time last night, students from Democratic Patriot Youth and Youth Union of Turkey - two politically opponent students groups - confronted each other at an award ceremony held by Science and Utopia Magazine in Ankara's Middle East Technical University.

Armored police forces intervened the turmoil caused by student groups that left 15 injured.

While the students from YUT group left METU campus, members from the other group, DPY, marched on campus. Police intervened the marching students with tear gas and cannoned water during four hours. (EKN/BM)
