A Group of Peace Academics Go on Hunger Strike for Gülmen, Özakça

A group of Peace Academics have started a rotational and temporary hunger strike in support of Nuriye Gülmen and Semih Özakça, demanding that they be returned to their work.
Esra Mungan will go on hunger strike for 24 hours on the first day of the protest staged at Khalkedon Square in İstanbul’s district of Kadıköy. Beginning with a statement for the press, the protest continued until 8 p.m.
It was stated in the statement that protests will be held in Dersim, Ankara, and abroad.
The statement read by Fatma Gök, Dilek Hattatoğlu, Hülya Dinçer, and Esra Mungan urged the authorities to return Gülmen and Özakça, who are on 58th day of their hunger strike, to their works.
Academic Nuriye Gülmen and teacher Semih Özakça are on the 178th day of their “I want my job back” protest, and on the 58th day of their hunger strike. (BK/TK)
