150 Demonstrators Were Detained Till Noon in Istanbul on May Day
According to the declaration of Istanbul Bar Association, on May Day 150 demonstrator were detained in total till noon in Istanbul. Also, Istanbul Chief Police Selami Altınok declared,"As of now, 136 people were detained"
"By 11:40, along with about 80 detained people who were informed to the crises desk, number of the detained demonstrators in total and the detained citizens are assummed approx. 150. The policemen detained mostly in the vicinty of Okmeydanı, Beşiktaş, Zincirlikuyu, and Şişli.
The buses leading to Beşiktaş were stopped in Avcılar, Kadıköy, Balmumcu, Ümraniye and Sefaköy, and access to Beşiktaş and Taksim were prevented.
The lawyers in the crises desk arrived to the places in where the police detained the demonstrators. The lawyers will apply to Court of Peace in order to free the detainees. Latest news will be inform in written." (AS/CB)
