One soldier has lost his life while driving a private vehicle in an armed attack by members of Kurdistan Worker's Party (PKK), a sergeant major and a village guard who were also in the car have been injured in Baykan district of Siirt province in southeastern Turkey.
Various reinforcing units have been sent to the region and an operation has been launched following the attack. (NV/DG)
