1 Soldier, 1 Village Guard Killed in Van

A soldier and a village guard have lost their lives in an explosion occurred during security search on the Kacit village road in Çatak province of Turkey's eastern province of Van.
The explosion occurred today (April 14) at 3.30 p.m. According to the initial findings, the an improvised explosive allegedly planted on a culvert by members of the Kudistan Workers' Party (PKK) was the source of the explosion.
Also some people have been reportedly injured in the explosion. Ambulances have been dispatched to the area.
An air operation has been launched in the region. (NV/DG)
